Online Piano Lessons
Technology helps us maintain connection and explore the activities, pursuits, and passions that keep us grounded, healthy, and happy.
I’m not sure that I or my music teacher colleagues would have imagined a time when we would move ALL of our piano teaching to an online platform. Zoom piano or music theory lessons were a temporary solution to learning music during the COVID-19 pandemic and ‘safer-at-home’ practices - how I missed seeing, hearing, and interacting with my students in person! Still, I have to acknowledge the important and positive role that technology played during that time. Much to my surprise, my students largely flourished during the pandemic, showing remarkable consistency in their practicing and making strides that I could not have imagined. Many students reported that continuing their musical study during the COVID lockdown made a huge contribution to their happiness and mental well-being. While I was happy to be able to return to in-person lessons, I will continue to offer online piano lessons to those who want them. Online lessons work!
